PROCESS ENGINEER
The Process Engineer provides support and direction for the repair and modification of piece parts. Responsible for translating externally provided technical instruction and data into internal usable instruction, with machine capability and programs that adhere to part specifications and parameters.
What You Will Do
Work with the GTF Introduction Lead and major stakeholders as an integral member of the implementation team for the creation of Repair processes; including the implementation of any required equipment and material, becoming the primary process support for the created repairs.
Repair process capability
- Create and implement part repairs associated to the PW1100G-JM engine type with compliance, CHCEC CORE and EH&S requirements at the forefront.
- Design, review and approve tooling for repair introductions, including both new design and equivalencies to existing designs.
- Function as a technical resource in the repairability of PW1100G-JM parts, liaising with external sources to define suitable repair process.
- Creation of PFMEA and any required SPC.
- Troubleshoot existing repair processes to solve immediate arising issues, incorporating changes and solutions as the process matures.
- Interpret technical data such as engine manuals, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, IEN’s, etc. Build the knowledge gained through the above efforts into improved guides for Operations staff.
- As the role develops and the capability matures, there may be opportunities and requirements for the candidate to play an active part within the development of repairs to resolve part conditions that have no existing approved repair scheme. This requires a solution based creative repair mind that works closely with the OEM to develop suitable processes, allowing the salvageability of parts within the criteria specified by OEM.

Qualifications & Experience You Must Have
- Higher level Diploma in a relevant Management or Engineering Field or NZ LAME
- Experience in lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement
- Experience within an aero-engine MRO
- Experience in data analysis and trend monitoring
- High level of Computer Literacy
- Thorough knowledge of the processes involved with the teardown, inspection, repair, modification, assembly, and testing of engines undergoing repair and refurbishment
Qualifications & Experience We Prefer
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Management or Engineering Field
- In depth Experience in the creation of repair processes for immature value streams
- Experience in the development of repairs to support OEM in part salvageability
- Thorough knowledge of the CHCEC repair process introduction, RPSW and RSA
- Experience in the review and of technical data to produce comprehensive and efficient work instructions ready for approval to proceed to production
- 4 Quadrant leadership (or equivalent)
- Experience with the implementation of system and process initiations
