PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Troy 7, Inc. is seeking a Network Test Engineer to serve as a team member supporting the Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies (RCCTO) Directed Energy Project Office (DEPO).  The Network Test Engineer will provide expertise for RCCTO’s Directed Energy systems development, integration, test, and evaluation.  This candidate should be able to troubleshoot technical challenges, document solutions, resolve technical faults, and allocate resources to deliver solutions for the customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Provides recommendations for planning, coordinating, and executing test events
  • Coordinates and executes test and evaluation activities and events
  • Prepares test reports that document outcomes, successes, deficiencies and issues identified in the conduct of test and evaluation events
  • Build networks for each test mission at the test ranges such as Ft. Sill, White Sands Missile Range, Redstone Test Range
  • Provide data from different test range locations to control rooms
  • Provide video data sources over networks to use real time video and recording
  • Manage IPs on networks and provide VLANs to keep data separated or control access
  • Utilize Network Attached Storage (NAS) for networking data and post processing data items
  • Convert Cat6 data lines to fiber networks and back
  • Diagnose/troubleshoot/manage network and bandwidth issues
  • Use RF network linking to enhance cross-functional communications to various locations to complete mission objectives
  • Analyze networks to determine data flows, delays, and debugging of network issues

Job Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or relevant technical degree
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Understanding of how to install and configure networks and network equipment
  • Knowledge of various data types to include:  UDP/TCP data packets, video streaming, and VOIP
  • Ability to communicate with people with various levels of technical knowledge
  • Critical thinking skills to diagnose and solve complex problems
  • Dexterity when handling manual repairs and tests
  • Proficiency in computers, software, and database systems
  • Travel 20-50%
  • 2+ years’ network experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years’ test range experience

Experience with Wireshark or other tools to analyze networks
