What the position is:
The Senior Financial Analyst at CommuteAir plays a crucial role in supporting senior airline leadership by providing key reporting and analysis on the flight operations side of the business.
Essential functions:
• Perform multifaceted financial analysis that includes financial planning, operating results, new business initiatives, labor negotiations, and other projects.
• Prepare monthly Business Reviews for leadership.
• Analyze, prepare, present, and forecast certain expense drivers to leadership.
• Assist with monthly forecasting & the yearly budgeting process
• Participate in monthly financial variance reviews.
• Calculate and provide support for accruals and work with Accounting and Operations for a timely and accurate month-end close.
• Evaluation and financial reporting on expenditure requests.
• Assist with capital expenditure planning and preparation.
• Develop staffing projections for assigned projects.
• Review and summarize contracts to provide detailed financial analysis support.
• Review of invoices to ensure accuracy of spending.
• Supports ad hoc reporting requests.
General requirements & qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
• Minimum two years of related accounting or finance experience.
• Previous experience in the aviation industry preferred but not required.
• Strong financial modeling skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and graphing skills
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles
• Must possess excellent analytical, written, and verbal communications skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.

• Ability to lead projects and programs to completion.
• Approximately 50, primarily to Albany, NY, and hubs where parts are stored (ALB, IAD, IAH)
• Legally authorized to work in the USA
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequent or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body, sedentary work involves sitting most of the time and walking/standing occasionally with or without accommodation. Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
Visual Acuity:
Machine operators with inspection- Includes inspection, close assembly, clerical administrative; This is a minimal standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, operation of machines using measuring devices, assembly, or fabrication of parts with or without corrective lenses.

Inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
