About the Company

Western Michigan University is a vibrant, nationally recognized student-centered research university with an enrollment of more than 26,000. WMU is focused on delivering high-quality undergraduate instruction, advancing its growing graduate division and fostering significant research activities. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching places WMU in its highest category for doctoral-research universities. U.S. News & World Report`s annual ranking of American colleges and universities includes WMU as one of the nation`s top-100 public universities. Is it the journey, or the destination? At WMU‘s College of Aviation, it‘s both! Western Michigan University‘s College of Aviation has provided successful aviation programs since 1939. The college enjoys enthusiastic support from the University and the Battle Creek community, largely through its partnerships with Battle Creek Unlimited (BCU), the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and Duncan Aviation. The college has unprecedented industry interest and support through its Advisory Board, comprised of leaders in the aviation industry and surrounding communities. The College of Aviation offers the only comprehensive aviation program at a public university in Michigan and, with over 800 undergraduate students, is one of the largest (top three) aviation programs in the nation. WMU‘s College of Aviation has historically been viewed as a powerful force in aviation education. With the acquisition of a new, state-of-the-art training fleet and innovative program enhancements, Western Michigan University will become the distinguishing, or benchmark, collegiate aviation program in the country and, perhaps, internationally.
