Job Overview

Assist with all accounting, finance, and administration functions related to assigned countries including payroll, tax and financial reporting while adhering to local compliance.

Responsible for occasional accounting projects and analyses. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.

  • Perform daily accounting, finance, and administration functions (AR, AP, cargo, payroll, reconciliation, budgeting, government surveys, treasury/cash forecasting, tax/VAT reporting and compliance, corporate compliance, internal controls, facility management) in country.
  • Assist with month-end accounting, including preparing journal entries and producing ad hoc reports as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of GST return, Fringe Benefit Tax & other indirect tax
  • Coordinate/oversee processing of internal and external customer requests and enquires.
  • Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, local compliance, and support internal audit & external audit requests.
  • Financial administration tasks and ad hoc duties as required.

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years experience, however, we encourage Graduate accountants and junior accountants to apply
  • Strong understanding of an end-to-end accounts payable process
  • Knowledge and application of IFRS accounting standards and principles
  • Knowledge of Australian & New Zealand GST and Fringe Benefit Tax compliance
  • Proficient in large ERP accounting systems, preferably Oracle
  • Computer literate skills including intermediate Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to form and maintain productive relationships at all levels of the business
  • Excellent accuracy and high attention to details at all times
  • Pro-active, self-motivated and ability to use initiatives
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Australia for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Progressing through CA / CPA or equivalent post graduate studies
  • Experience of preparing bank reconciliations and accounts reconciliations.
  • Experience assisting with month end accounting close processes.
