We are currently seeking a Full-Time Intermediate Accountant to join our team at our Calgary, AB Base, for a 4-month termed position.

The Intermediate Accountant is part of the accounting team, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. The sky is the limit for learning and career growth with this position!

Job Responsibilities
  • Performing full-cycle accounting functions & maintaining accounting ledgers, preparation of working papers as required within the Company and its affiliated entities.

  • Participates in the month-end accounting process in accordance with corporate timelines.

  • In-depth understanding of ASPE and completed contract revenue recognition.

  • Providing support for external auditors • Preparing invoices in accordance with sales agreements and entering invoices into accounting software.

  • Enters purchase invoices, expense reports and other charges incurred in accordance with general ledger coding, company approval processes.

  • Supports the Treasury function within the department.

  • Meeting accounts receivable and payable operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing productivity, quality, and partner-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.

  • Participating in the collections process to ensure provision of statements of accounts, and proper follow-up inquiries.

  • Providing timely analysis and reporting of the various streams and processes

  • Researches, develops, and implements special projects, as assigned.

  • Adhering to established corporate policies, maintaining financial security by adhering to internal controls.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements & Qualifications
  • Clear and effective communication skills required for responding to concerns from customers and other stakeholders; excellent phone etiquette is also required.

  • Strong project management skills to ensure all obligations and deadlines are met.

  • Flexibility and change management skills combined with a can-do attitude.

  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask in an ever-changing environment.

  • Possesses strong leadership and decision-making skills.

  • Legally eligible to travel internationally when required.

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of billing programs and accounting principles.

  • An understanding of financial controls

  • Ability to work with industry software, previous Accounting or ERP software as well as Microsoft Office

  • Shows integrity, professionalism, ingenuity, and assertiveness in the performance of tasks
