SUMMARY:

The Ravenswood Plant Controller will have responsibility for leading the Ravenswood Finance department, reporting and control of the plant, including balance sheet responsibility and the protection/management of the assets of the business.

The Controller advises senior management on matters of accounting principle and internal controls and recommends where action should be taken. The Controller and his/her team will play a significant role in enhancing business growth through financial planning, business analysis, financial controls, process and margin improvements, and development of Finance function talent.

This role will maintain an accounting record and reporting system so as to fulfill Division, Corporate, GAAP, and management requirements. The role also oversees the internal control and SOX program - with specific responsibility to administer program in conjunction with SOX Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Leads the Finance team in preparation of budgets and forecasts, corporate and division financial reports
- Liaises with function heads to meet and exceed business targets for Revenue, EBIT, cashflow, inventory, and other financial measures
- In conjunction with Sr Director Finance & Controller - TIMET, assess the performance of the Finance staff and advise on matters of promotion and salary and the need for training and development of staff in line with TIMET and PCC guidelines.
- Develop and maintain financial control systems and procedures to establish and maintain control over the assets of the company.
- Work with SOX Coordinator to develop and enhance SOX controls to ensure a robust and effective SOX program, enforcing compliance with all controls and procedures.
- Leads and directs the month end close process for the operation - ensuring all activities/analysis are completed, journal entries are prepared, final results are accurate, necessary variance analysis completed, and in compliance with Division and PCC requirements.
-Develops short and long-range department objectives, organizational structure, and department staffing requirements
- Participates in the preparation of Capital Appropriation Requests, preparing financial analysis for determining feasibility of proposed expenditure prior to approval. Ensures adherence to budget, and project spend and timeline. Carries out post-appraisal reviews as defined by PCC.
- Understands all key PCC definitions and calculations - including but not limited to LCM, E & O , FCA, Absorption, Entitlement.
- MOR & FQR attendance required
- Assures that effective communications are maintained within areas of responsibility. Where appropriate, informs employees as to plans and progress. Conducts employee discussion sessions at regular and frequent intervals.

- Provides direct support to the commercial team on product costs and margins - will maintain a cost book for all products produced.
- Ensures compliance with PCC Pre-Approval policy, including submission of ECARS, ECONS, and Judgemental Areas of Accounting for relevant matters.
- Assures that the necessary coordination within the area of responsibility is taking place and that coordination of the assigned area with those of other company or corporate units is taking place. Resolves problems involving coordination. Provides other company units with related information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities
- Consults with all segments of management responsible for policy or action. Makes recommendations for improving the effectiveness of policy or procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

BS/BA – Accounting or Finance with a CPA/CMA highly preferred
MBA desirable
15+ years&39; experience as a Department, Division, or Company Controller in a minimum $100M revenue organization.

SPECIAL SKILLS:
Demonstrated proficiency with GAAP, Accounts Payable, Payroll, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, and Integrated Accounting Systems, Microsoft Office Software products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with planning & forecasting
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in process based manufacturing in a metals or durable goods environment
Demonstrate knowledge and experience with supervising employees
SAP, Syteline, and HFM/Oracle EPM Cloud experience highly desired or equivalent experience in ERP Accounting systems
