POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Director of Reimbursement and is responsible for compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data primarily related to the revenue and accounts receivable allowance accrual estimate calculations of the Patient Financial Services (PFS) billing and claim collection process.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Responsible for the analysis and accurate accrual calculations of Patient Financial Services (PFS) billing and collection revenue and accounts receivable monthly, as well as the analytics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting tools necessary for ongoing evaluation, monitoring collections, monitoring, and interpreting payor mix, cash collection and forecasting, days sales outstanding, and other financial and accounting metrics.
  • Collaboratively and proactively works with the PFS management team department to identify and analyze payor mix reimbursement trends for Commercial Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Government and Self Pay categories to evaluate and interpret information and present findings and recommendations to management. Assist in the implementation of processes accordingly.
  • Identification, preparation, and review of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly Air Medical revenue reports and other KPIs for PHI Executive team, PFS Management, as well as Regional and individual Air Medical Bases of Operations.
  • Assists in the determination of the most useful payor strategies and business solutions for the company. Recommends and advises management regarding matters, such as alternative solutions as to courses of action that best meet the companys goals, objectives, and strategy, including effective use of resources.
  • Maintenance of and compliance with financial internal controls.
  • Preparation of various financial and data analyses as directed by management. Assumes other special activities, projects, and responsibilities as required.
  • Creates programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data.
  • Research new data sources and analytical tools.
  • Work with internal and external auditors on internal control and financial audits as required.
  • Perform analysis and assist with special projects as requested by Air Medical Finance, Accounting, and Operational managers.
  • Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform ad-hoc accounting projects and analysis as required, including data analysis and reporting, etc.
  • Understand and provide visible support of Destination Zero.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
  • CPA preferred.
  • 2 -3 years' experience in public accounting or the health care industry preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups. Excellent computer skills and an overall technology savvy skillset.
  • Solid organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details.
  • Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-placement drug test and background screen
