The Senior Accountant assists the Controller and Assistant Controller to ensure the business has appropriate processes in place to control costs and provide good, sound financial controls. Assistance related to financial controls to include monthly close process, SOX compliance evaluation, cycle and fixed asset count processes, and accurate capital tracking. Is a key member of Month end close process, preparing journal entries, account analysis, account reconciliations, and contributing to weekly and monthly reporting packages. Provides analytical support finance and other functions. Assists financial and cost analysis as needed. Plays key role in preparing and presenting quarterly balance sheet review with Division and Corporate team members. Provides functional accounting support where needed for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and capital spending tracking. Works with the Controller, Assistant Controller and other functional leaders to ensure financial reporting accuracy.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Assistant Controller in ensuring timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements.
  • Manages preparation and review of weekly and monthly reporting packages on financials and key operating metrics, ensures data accuracy and integrity.
  • Reviews financial data regularly to ensure fairness and completeness of the data.
  • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expense, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. Additionally, prepares and reports the month end financial results to division and plant management within 3-day close period.
  • Works with Assistant Controller to manage the preparation of budgets, review budget proposals, and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Reviews and prepares journal entries, account analyses, and account reconciliations at month-end for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintains construction in progress detail with supporting documentation and works with management team to submit capital requests.
  • Acts as liaison for internal and external audits.
  • Works with SOX Coordinator and Compliance Manager to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Knowledge of SOX, SOX management requirements and compliance procedure of company records and processes.
  • Assists in the completion of annual physical inventory.
  • Assists with preparation of monthly and quarterly Excess and Obsolete, FCA, and LCM calculations and analysis
  • Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Supports major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies by overseeing general accounting policies, processes, and activities.

    Required Experience:

    • 5+ Years of Accounting experience
    • 3-5 Years of Manufacturing Cost experience
      GAAP knowledge required.
    • Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge preferred.
    • Experience with ERP systems and Advanced Excel, Power BI a plus.

    Level of Education:

    • BA/BS in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in accounting

    For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $85300 to $115000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
