Job Description

The Senior Cost Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of Kenn Borek Airs manufacturing and repair projects. This position, structured as a one-year contract, will be specifically responsible for conducting detailed cost analyses, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing strategic financial advice related to these initiatives. Additionally, the role offers a flexible work schedule, allowing for optimal work-life balance.

Major Responsibilities of the Role:

• Conduct detailed cost analysis for aircraft repair projects, including direct and indirect costs.
• Collaborate with project managers to gather cost data, project timelines, and other relevant information.
• Evaluate project profitability and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
• Evaluate project budgeting and cost-tracking processes and recommend improvements as appropriate.
• Prepare financial reports and forecasts related to aircraft repair projects.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost allocation. Assess the reasonableness of cost pools and drivers used in allocations.
• Conduct cost audits to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
• Provide financial analysis support for strategic decision-making.

Additional Information

Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol screening, resulting in a negative test result, is a condition of employment. Screening is provided at KBA expense and will be conducted, where possible, on the first day of employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA) are highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in cost accounting, preferably in the aerospace or aviation industry.
• Experience with sourcing, cleaning, validating, compiling, linking and analysing data from multiple sources.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
