Duties

FV-F DUTIES:

Performs basic but progressively more difficult assignments under the close direction of the manger or Chief of Staff. Applies basic knowledge and limited experience to accomplish the work. Typical assignments may include collecting and recording data/information; conducting research; applying policies and procedures; identifying problems; correspondence control; adherence to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)/Privacy Act; customer service; travel support; time and attendance administration; labor distribution reporting; maintaining calendars; scheduling appointments; procurement; telephone support; and overall office management. Reports directly to the Chief of Staff and provides administrative support to the Aeronautical Center Directors office.

Provides administrative support to the AMC training program manager and serves as training coordinator for training initiated or required by the directorate and/or staff members. Assists in providing on-the-job training to lower-level staff and provides guidance to others regarding the use of timekeeping, travel and electronic messaging and various other administrative software systems. Collaborates with supervisors, managers, HR business partners, and HR Specialists to personnel requests/actions and employee recognition programs. May assist employees with a variety of other basic personnel-related issues in coordination with HR Services.

FV-G DUTIES:

Performs a combination of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team for projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility within the office. Typical assignments may include fiscal; human resources; travel; management information systems; contract support; customer service; time and attendance administration; correspondence control; adherence to FOIA/privacy act; security administration; labor distribution reporting; procurement and overall office management. Incumbent interprets guidelines and provides management advice and counsel on the operation of assigned programs and the interrelationship of such programs. Serves as liaison between the organization, field offices, and FAA Headquarters to accomplish assigned functions. Performs as a confidant in handling administrative duties concerning correspondence control, records maintenance, and overall office management. Reports directly to the Chief of Staff and provides administrative support to the Aeronautical Center Directors office.

Provides administrative support to the AMC training program manager and serves as training coordinator for training initiated or required by the directorate and/or staff members. Compiles and monitors the annual training budget and obligates funds. Assists with requests for non-technical training courses. Provides on-the-job training or makes provisions for obtaining formal training. Collaborates with supervisors, managers, HR business partners, and HR Specialists regarding personnel requests/actions and employee recognition programs; and may assist employees with a variety of other personnel related issues in coordination with the HR management office. Maintains reports on personnel statistics such as manpower programs, personnel ceiling, promotions, average and high grade/band level statistics. Provides administrative support for local Aeronautical Center Labor Management Council meetings. Provides on-the-job training to lower-level staff and provides guidance to others regarding the use of timekeeping, travel, and electronic messaging and various other administrative software systems.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

TO QUALIFY AT THE FV-F (FG/GS 5-9) LEVEL, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least three years of progressively responsible general experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, recognize solutions, plan and organize work, and communicate effectively with at least one year equivalent to the FG/GS-4 level. General experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible area may be qualifying as long as it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) necessary to perform the duties of this position.

OR

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, gained from an accredited college or university.

OR

Combination of education and experience may be qualifying for this position.

TO QUALIFY AT THE FV-G (FG/GS 10/11) LEVEL, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-F (FG/GS 5-9) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience includes: Experience applying management principles, practices, methods, and techniques to solve the problems of the organization; integrating management services with the general management of an organization; developing and securing the fiscal and business resources and services needed to manage and run an organization; managing office administrative functions (e.g., travel, management information systems, time and attendance) and tracking/managing various administrative and operations programs and projects.

OR

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related, from an accredited college or university.

OR

Combination of education and experience may be qualifying for this position.
