Remote Work:

This position is eligible for hybrid work within Calgary, Alberta only, under our mobile workforce program. The successful candidate must be currently living in the Calgary area or be willing to independently relocate.    

Overview of role: 

As Advisor, Brand Marketing you’ll be responsible for leading integrated brand campaigns and messaging across a variety of channels supporting our broader marketing and business objectives. Working with the Senior Manager, Brand Strategy & Activation, you’ll act as a guardian of WestJet’s global brand, informing the brand experience and partnering with our agencies and stakeholders across the organization to develop and execute integrated programs and campaigns.

What you’ll do:  

Campaign and messaging management 

  • You’ll work closely with market research teams to nurture strategic insights that help you craft compelling and inspiring briefs to deliver breakthrough creative.  

  • You have a track record for end-to-end project delivery (brief to execution) across a variety of mediums with external agency partners and internal teams.  

  • Strategize and execute WestJet’s always-on brand messaging and tactics. 

  • Provide recommendations on tonality, narrative and integration across channels in support of business goals and operating environment.  

  • Experience working on large-scale campaigns with high visibility.  

Brand Experience & Governance 

  • Responsible for stewardship, maintenance, and advancement of the brand, ensuring consistent brand image and tone are used in all experiences. This includes work on guidelines, architecture, templates and positioning along with guest-facing experiences.  

  • Supports and provides strategic recommendations to internal teams in building the brand experience and expression across touchpoints that include physical spaces like airports and on-board.  

  • Provide strategic creative recommendations on brand communications and earned/owned/paid media for all relevant mediums while ensuring brand consistency is maintained. 

  

Experience and qualifications: 

  • Degree in marketing, communications or commerce with 5+ years leading brand and/or marketing initiatives.  

  • A passionate marketer who has keen instincts and stays current on emerging marketing trends and tools  

  • Experience planning and executing large-scale campaigns from conceptualization to implementation with flawless execution across multiple mediums including TV broadcast, photoshoots, experiential, social, digital and out of home (OOH) is essential.  

  • Proven ability to implement break-through creative that is rooted in insights.  

  • Strong understanding of, and experience in, working within the current media landscape. 

  • Experience developing measurement frameworks for tracking and reporting on success.  

  • Experience in partnering with external agencies (creative and media), partners and vendors building and maintaining strong relationships.  

  • Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines in a highly reactive, competitive environment.  

  • Ability to work independently with a can-do, positive attitude.  

  • Agency experience considered an asset.
