The purpose of the Network Services – Facilities IT Transition (FITT) Team is to unify Air Canada’s IT services delivery for consistency and quality across its internal and sourced environment with ITIL/ITSM best practices. To provide overall system, application, communication, and mobile technology that support Air Canada Airports and Administration offices throughout the world. As an Analyst, IT Network you will be working with vendors, other Air Canada IT departments, operational teams, Corporate Real Estate and Corporate Security to implement complete end-to-end solutions that meet business and end user IT requirements. Provide expert technological guidance as needed working with various IT teams to maximize operational integrity, performance, and safety. 

Key Function & Accountabilities:

  • Adhere to change management process for Airports IT Systems and the coordination required with all other appropriate departments and vendors, including approval process.
  • Support engagement and work efforts with AC and Air Canada vendors to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Provide proactive on-going communication to key stakeholders, to ensure they are aware of significant changes to the project status in a timely manner. 
  • Prepare and share status reports and findings with the manager.
  • Support assessing and escalating project related risks to the proper management level when needed.
  • Provide support and guidance on the development of scripts and technical testing/integration for all new systems and/or changes to existing systems.
  • Provide on-site support activities both conducting site surveys collecting and compiling IT information.
  • Coordinate and participate in on-site testing/validations during hardware and application deployments.
  • Translation of functional requirements into technical documents.
  • Create and maintain detailed projects and team documentation. 
  • Manage risks associated with project related hardware/software implementations.
  • Meet project timelines and budgets.
  • Support IT project costing estimates in support of project funding.
  • Provide expense management support for a large enterprise operational budget.
  • Work with Air Canada’s Strategic Procurement and Partner Performance teams during the establishment of new contracts and contract changes with existing partners.
  • Support development and creation of business cases and funding requests in support of project and project change requests.
  • Responsible for monthly invoice analysis to identify errors, discrepancies, and savings opportunities.
  • Perform invoice validation and submission for approval on telecom invoices.
  • Perform allocation management.
  • Work with the Air Canada’s partners to review and develop procedures for the management of invoices and disputes.
  • Manage disputes and issues through resolution.
  • Build and provide expense reporting and monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Create monthly accrual reports.
  • Work in collaboration with other departments in IT as well as Finance.

Qualifications

  • IT related education and/or technological background (programming, infrastructure management, etc.) an asset.
  • 3-5 years of IT technology or operations experience in a large company. 
  • Knowledge of Airline information technology and financial platforms and applications an asset. 
  • Familiarity with the airline industry is an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills. 
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities that are driven by operational corporate requirements. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under extreme pressure and a sense of urgency.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to a continually changing environment.
  • Strong ability to be self-starter, independent learner, and team player.
  • Ability to lead under urgent and high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment towards a common goal/objective.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts as required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the world and be mobile.
