Job Summary

The Associate Revenue Management Analyst invests in the future of Southwest by maximizing the revenue by analyzing Customer booking and travel behavior, forecasting demand, and optimizing revenue by selling the right amount of seats at various price points. This role will support our Low Fare Brand by initiating sales, keeping our refundable price points much lower than the Competition, maintaining pricing leadership in the industry, and with our Transfarency of zero bag and change fees. The Associate Revenue Management Analyst is a quick problem solver, who is excited to have the opportunity to learn and grow in their expertise each day and pilot the future of Southwest Airlines.

Program Details:

Our Associate Revenue Management Program is a pathway for recent college graduates and individuals who are early in their careers to begin their professional growth journey. Through this program, we aim to help you develop lasting relationships while creating a meaningful career through on-the-job mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities.To be eligible for the Assoc. Revenue Management Analyst Position, you must have not already started your post-graduate career prior to this position. This program will have cohort start dates in January 2025, June 2025, and September 2025. We welcome emerging professionals to apply to our upcoming cohorts.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

  • U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. is required, and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze market performance and forecast to identify revenue opportunities
  • Maintain and adjust market pricing and inventory position to improve revenue
  • Analyze forward-looking demand trends in assigned markets and cities
  • Deliver well-written post-analysis on assigned markets as requested by leaders
  • Identify outliers in forecasting system and make appropriate actions
  • Collaborate with team in managing holidays and special events; conduct and present analysis on revenue performance within market scope
  • Maintain analysis utilizing Excel functions including, but not limited to: pivot tables, formulas, lookups
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to maximize revenue
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employees Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to solve complex analytical problems
  • Ability to interpret data, draw implications and modify approach as needed
  • Skilled at taking both the big picture and details into account and making the right decision
  • Skilled in synthesizing action plans and communicating to others
  • Ability to prioritize own work
  • Ability to make decisions in an ambiguous environment and actively make trade-offs considering the highest revenue opportunity or greatest sense of urgency
  • Ability to maintain composure, work quality, and other skills during stressful situations
  • Preferred: Experience with SQL or Alteryx
  • Preferred: Airline experience
  • Preferred: Experience with a revenue management project

Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Required: To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (as defined by you university) at the time of application
  • Preferred: You must have not started your postgraduate career prior to starting this position
  • Preferred: Completed degree by the start of the program with a major, or minor in Aviation, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Math, Statistics, Supply Chain, Marketing or Business-related field OR similar degree

Experience
  • Entry level experience, developing skills and knowledge in:
    • Analytics
    • Quantitative analysis

Licensing/Certification
  • N/A

Physical Abilities
  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $60,050.00 per year to $66,700.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
