Job Description:
Reporting to the Sub-Category Manager, Commodity Specialists will be a key member of the Category Management team, contributing to sourcing strategies and executing the Source-to-Contract process for a specific commodity/ group of commodities
For the assigned commodity/ commodities, their responsibilities are the following:
Contributing to and implementing Sourcing strategies in line with overall Category/ Sub-Category objectives
Investigate the commodity market landscape in depth and identify new potential suppliers/ technologies 
Performing the sourcing and RFx process to meet company requirements
Conducting negotiations and contracting for new goods/ services, in the pursuit of category savings and contractualization targets
Managing, maintaining and executing agreements with suppliers over the entire business relationship
Developing and cultivating commercial relationships with a well-defined list of suppliers
Commodity Specialists will thus perform sourcing & contracting activities across the entire product/ part lifecycle (development, recurring production and CS&S)
Commodity Specialists will be linked to a well-defined list of suppliers within the commodity, representing the single P&SC interface vs. external stakeholders for all the commercial and contractual issues, together with the hierarchical Sub-Category and Category Managers

Relevant procurement or commercial experience with proven examples of:

• Performance improvement against core objectives (e.g. cost reduction, schedule adherence, lead time reduction etc). 

• Experience of negotiation, agreement and management of contracts for complex contracts ;

• Degree in Business Management or Engineering (or equivalent) and/or MCIPS Corporate qualification or relevant experience within the Defence/Aerospace Sector or wider industry.

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English;

• A proven ability to influence internally and externally and solve problems using own initiative.

• Advanced team working skills and capable of co-ordinating multi-functional team activity.

• Computer literate (particularly Microsoft Office Suite).

• Proven ability to work in international markets.

• Able & willing to travel alone or as part of a team within the US and overseas.
