Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is seeking a Price Cost Estimating Analyst 2/3 focused on assisting our fast-growing business with data-driven and value-added analyses. The preferred location for this role is McLean VA or Redondo Beach CA.  We will consider applications from our other major NG space locations:  Dulles VA; Aurora CO; Baltimore MD; Chandler AZ; or, Huntsville AL.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supporting the Sector historical cost and technical database initiative.
  • Performing data collection, normalization, and analysis.
  • Developing estimating factors, regression analyses and identify estimating relationships from company data.
  • Supporting cost studies using company data.
  • Identifying and evaluating proposal risk issues in cost estimates, terms and conditions, and all other business management related functions.
  • Supporting and assisting the Sector Director of Independent Cost Evaluation (ICE) in executing the company-wide ICE process.
  • Generating and presenting ICE analyses in support of risk reviews.
  • Assisting in maintaining and delivering training.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience - OR - a Masters degree as outlined above with 1+ years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience - OR - a Masters degree as outlined above with 4+ years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Additional Basic qualifications for both levels:

  • Demonstrated experience in business management and labor and non-labor cost estimating.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to make recommendations and provide guidance to effectively bring projects to completion.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data transformation and normalization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to use them in informing, presenting, negotiating and problem solving with a wide range of functions and people.
  • Ability to travel up to 10 of the time.
  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.  US citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Database design SQL experience.
  • Experience with languages and tools such as R, Python, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau and/or Power BI.
  • Relevant experience including exposures in the cost/business management/ops research world, with a strong knowledge of quantitative risk techniques, cost and risk modeling, and government contracts.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Top Secret/SCI security clearance.  US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
Salary Range: $62,200 - $108,100
Salary Range 2: $76,600 - $133,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
