Duties

Duties at the F- band will include but are not limited to:

Incumbent performs the duties of the position by applying a basic knowledge and understanding of applicable EEO guidelines and principles with supervision and guidance. For complex inquires and technical assistance those matters are referred to a senior level specialist. The incumbent receives detailed instructions/direction from a manager or more experienced professional; and work is reviewed regularly during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and all aspects of quality. The work activities typically support the work of other employees and contribute to activities of the organizational level. The work affect internal and external customers.

Responsible for maintaining and updating records, spreadsheets, databases and reports as necessary. Analyzes issues, identifies problems, and recommends solutions. Prepares routine technical correspondence and periodic reports for submission to local and national FAA Civil Rights Offices. Responsible for supporting outreach to applicant pools and special emphasis programs, alternative dispute resolution program and proactive training and evaluation to enhance the work environment.

Duties at the G- band will include but are not limited to:

Performs a combination of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager or more experienced professional. Acts an advisor to managers, supervisors and employees within a region or service area on a full range of (EEO) programs.

Applies experience and detailed knowledge of Federal EEO laws, regulations, Departmental and Agency orders, management directives, executive orders, and court decisions. Typical assignments may include: collecting and analyzing data/information conducting research, applying policies and procedures, identifying problems and working with higher level professionals in day-to-day operations.

Demonstrates some independence in planning time and using assigned resources to accomplish tasks or small projects. These EEO programs include, but are not limited to processing complaints, facilitating the resolution of informal complaints, attempting to resolve them before they reach the formal complaint stage, working and communicating with diverse individuals and management officials at all levels, informing
aggrieved individuals and management about the complaint process, their rights in the complaint process and the benefits of mediation.

Inputs and retrieves information and documents in the Agencys official complaint tracking system, reporting in writing, the results of inquiries into each case counseled, coordinating and documenting resolution agreements. Participates on MD-715 Assessments and in all program meetings, conferences, training sessions and workshops. Works with collateral duty mediators, coaches, counselors and other staff in support of mediation and counselor programs as well as other Business Plan Initiatives.

Contacts are primarily internal to the organizational unit, major subdivision, or LOB/SO with a manager and other employees to share information. May have frequent contacts with customers and other external parties on routine matters such as gathering information, explaining regulations, and discussing the customers situations. Work with local schools, universities and private industry in an educational and outreach capacity.

To qualify for this position at the FV-F level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least three years of progressively responsible general experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions, plan and organize work and convey information, with at least one year equivalent to the FG/GS-4.


General experience could have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible area may be qualifying as long as it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) necessary to perform the duties of this position.

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor’s degree, gained from an accredited college or university. To qualify based on education, you must submit a copy of your college transcripts. If selected, official transcripts will be required prior to employment.

To qualify for this position at the FV-G level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-F, FG/GS-5-9. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience is: Experience applying Federal EEO laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to EEO Programs, while making recommendations to aide in resolving concerns.

OR

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

OR

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.
