Boeing has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Communications and Branding Specialist to join our team in one of the following locations: Huntsville, AL; or New Orleans, LA. Position Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development, periodic review and execution of the Space Launch System (SLS), Exploration Upper Stage (EUS) and the Lunar Ecosystem Strategic Communications Plans to ensure Communications resources are focused on activity that will advance the program toward its goals and priorities

  • Provides counsel to members of the SLS/EUS leadership team on Communications issues, risks and opportunities

  • Develops and executes Communications tactics including (but not limited to) creating written and visual content for internal and external platforms, leadership messages and leadership speeches

  • Works with local, regional and trade media and other traditional and non-traditional media representatives to pitch stories, drive media coverage, and advance the SLS/EUS program through earned media coverage aligned with business objectives

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with NASA PAOs, key supplier Public Affairs Officers (PAOs), business partners, employees, campaign vendors and reporters

  • Maintains partnership with NASA PAO counterparts, significantly contributes to the development and execution of communications plans and crisis communications plans for SLS/EUS missions

  • Supports internal communications for the division (internal website, employee communications, executive communications support, etc.)

  • Leads and supports for division communications KPI (Key Performance Indicators) tracking, or “Data Capitan,” including supporting Enterprise communications metrics tracking for Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS)

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3&43; years of experience in Communications (including, but not limited to: Corporate Communications, News Media, and Public Relations)

  • Experience working with external media

  • College degree in Communications, English or Journalism (Bachelor’s degree)

  • Experience developing communications strategies including executive speeches, employee communications, news releases, videos and web content

  • Experience creating and implementing strategic communications plans

  • Experience in data analytics and metrics tracking

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5&43; years of experience in communication

  • Experience working in the aerospace industry

  • Project Management experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master&43;4 years related work experience, 10 years related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $80,750 – $109,250
