The Boeing India Engineering is currently seeking a high performing Experienced Quality Systems Specialist to join the ET&T India Team in Chennai, India. The ET&T Team provides comprehensive Engineering services and solutions to rapidly access and visually transform complex engineering challenges. The Job requires a candidate having experience in different Quality systems and standards including but not limited to the AS9100, AS9110, AS9120, and the CMMI.

Working within a diverse team of skilled and motivated co-workers to collaborate on results. Candidate must be adaptive and a quick learner. Other qualities for this candidate are a positive attitude, self-motivated, the ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Good communication skills are needed both verbal and written, to interact with peers and stakeholders. The job requires the ability to work well with others on a team as well as independently. Job requires working within a diverse team of skilled and motivated co-workers to collaborate on results. Position Responsibilities:

  • Train and Guide teams to implement Quality practices in in Projects,
  • Guide and coach teams to implement root cause and corrective actions industry standard practices
  • Create and Integrate improvement plans at the unit and the Organization level to support the Senior Management
  • Coach teams to implement unit level improvement plans
  • Coach Engineering managers in developing training plans to drive Competence Management and the engineering skills of the team.
  • Adapt Process Assets and process frameworks and tools – to maintain AS9100D and CMMI compliance
  • Development of new templates/formats for QMS compliance
  • Support the Engineering Teams in tracking operational performance and quality issues in the project
  • Track and report on the status of Operational Risks, Issues and Opportunities for projects and Organization units
  • Provide QMS Training for Support function teams
  • Plan and coordinate internal audits to evaluate compliance with AS9100 and the CMMI
  • Internal audit progress and closure reports to the Senior Management
  • External audit planning and coordination with external certification agencies
  • Audit NC Review and investigation of root causes for external reported NCs
  • Audit NC Corrective action plan development for external reported NCs

High Level Skills
Reviews proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements ensuring early quality involvement in program development. Prepares and maintains Quality directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed. Analyzes process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of problems. Participates with stakeholders to develop potential preventive or corrective actions and implementation. Conducts research, compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics, to continuously improve process capability. Conducts quality source selection and process reviews of suppliers ability to meet program quality requirements and support business decisions, and develops a coordinated response for management review and approval. Conducts hardware, software and system level audits to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, related business, regulatory and customer requirements and reports results to management. Analyzes data to provide material review dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts and equipment. Works under general direction.

  • Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, and concepts,
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems referring to established precedents and policies.
  • Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Participates in determining objectives of assignment; plans, schedules, and arranges own activities to accomplish those objectives.
  • Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long- range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives typically have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization.
  • Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years related work experience etc.).


Required Skills: 

  • Technical bachelors degree is a requirement and typically 9 to 12 Years related work experience or a Masters degree with typically 8 to 11 Years work experience.
  • Experience in Aerospace, Automotive and/or Software Services (Aerospace domain would be a big plus)
  • Eye for Quality and passion for change and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Technical bachelors degree is a requirement and typically 9 to 12 Years related work experience or a Masters degree with typically 8 to 11 Years work experience.
