Pratt & Whitney’s Program Planning & Scheduling (PP&S) organization is searching for a Program Planner. PP&S works with key program stakeholders to promote the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) as a healthy, integrated management tool. When properly maintained, the IMS can be used to influence program decisions and actions.

The F135 Development Sr Program Planner works with program office stakeholders and partners to ensure quality inputs and baseline integrity in alignment with government and company standards. The ideal candidate is a motivated team player who understands how to effectively and independently drive timely and accurate support of the IMS. We are seeking a critical thinker, with expertise in scheduling best practices and compliance, able to make recommendations for alternative ways to view program information enabling program management decisions.

*This is a hybrid position based in East Hartford, CT.

What You Will Do:

  • Interpret contract requirements and objectives to create a thorough Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) with key attributes adhering to DCMA and P&W internal quality checks. Lead IMS baselines and act independently as the program IMS lead in program reviews and meetings.
  • Provide consulting support to technical work scope owners by analyzing program plans, assisting technical experts in developing schedule baseline changes, and integrating proposed changes.
  • Analyze program critical path assessments and facilitate root cause assessments to baseline execution variances with CAMs which result in sound analysis and mitigation. Lead the development and delivery of Schedule Risk Assessments (SRAs) and Critical Path Analysis for the Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT) and/or external customers.
  • Collaborate with Earned Value Analysts, CAMs, and Component Integrated Product Team (CIPTs) to ensure alignment between SAP and IMS reporting systems, assess and report variances and possible mitigation plans from CAMs maintaining the IMS as a tool to manage technical execution.
  • Create and update scheduling procedures and standard work. Continuously expand and update technical knowledge to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity as well as communicating improvements and efficiencies in scheduling.  Communicate improvements and efficiencies in scheduling processes back to the PP&S organization.
  • Lead company PME initiatives through testing and implementing (including creation of WSI & training):
    • PP&S SME for EV transformation
    • IPMDAR processes

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 8+ years relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5+ years equivalent experience
  • Equivalent advanced to expert experience to include:
    • Working as a program level planner using logic-driven scheduling software such as Primavera, MS Project or Open Plan
    • Demonstrated proficiency in schedule analysis. Experience analyzing for IMS quality (such as DCMA 14-point and DCMA DECM) and ability to produce valid critical paths, applying root cause analysis to variance recovery.
    • Knowledge in the application of integrated cost/schedule techniques on programs
    • Knowledge of or experience in project management
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with:

    • NDIAs Planning and Scheduling Excellence Guide
    • Risk review process as it pertains to IMS quality and execution
    • Working on schedules that require baseline change control and monthly IPMDAR reporting
    • Using a Monte Carlo schedule risk simulator (i.e. Primavera Risk Analysis, Acumen Fuse)
    • Systems/project engineering concepts and practices
    • Understanding of systems/project engineering concepts and practices.
    • Must be proficient in MS Office Programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Demonstrated understanding of EV management principles and their application to complex projects
  • Strong creative problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking and time management skills
  • Organized and self-motivated with excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively handle multiple shifting priorities while meeting deadlines

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
