Role Specific Details

This position focus wil be working disputes, credits, and pre-arbitrations with financial institutions.

Role Summary

The Fraud and Revenue Analyst is responsible for developing solutions to proactively detect and prevent financial fraud in all sales channels and accounts at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve existing fraud detection practices and minimize fraud related revenue losses to the compan

Key Duties

  • With limited direction from a manager, work independently to monitor & research customer payment records, utilizing various tools and work queues to investigate and validate transactions.

  • Takes initiative to develop solutions to complex problems as they relate to ticket fraud prevention, including, but not limited to, gathering personal information from customers to help identify discrepancies and/or eliminate suspicion.

  • Make recommendations to streamline or enhance existing policies/procedures, stay ahead of continuously evolving fraud practices, and further protect guest data.

  • Adept at navigating through various scenarios and being solution-oriented during conflict resolution. Willing to apply excellent customer service skills while having difficult conversations with guests, cardholders & Mileage plan (MP) members.

  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, working closely with peers to analyze fraud trends, explore innovative ways to reduce risk, and make recommendations on rules adjustment with fraud tools.

  • Collaborates with counterparts including banks, merchants, peers, and other internal teams to detect fraud and eliminate risks within the organization.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 2 years of experience in fraud prevention, ecomm fraud prevention, revenue protection, airline industry experience or related area.

  • Bachelor’s degree with Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or related field, or an additional two years of training/experience required in lieu of this degree.

  • Ability and willingness to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal & written customer service skills.

  • Moderate knowledge of fraud prevention and detection best practices.

  • Capable of working both independently and in collaborative group settings.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of rule-based fraud programs/platforms.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook).

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Experience in the Airline or Travel Vertical.

  • Advanced knowledge of credit card chargeback processes and procedures.

  • Advanced awareness of current fraud trends in ecommerce environment.

Salary Range

$64,950 --- $97,450 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
