Job Description:

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

The Infrastructure Operations team manages the world’s largest network of antenna ground stations. Starlink’s ground stations, or gateways, are key to connecting the unconnected. Gateways are the link between internet content at data centers and Starlink’s low earth orbit satellite constellation.

To operate this global network, you will develop and own the inventory management strategy for gateway and data center hardware in Starlink’s warehouses worldwide. As our footprint expands, you are expected to become an expert in overcoming unique inventory, distribution, shipping, and regulatory challenges in every country, and finding creative ways to accelerate our deployment timelines. Individuals in this role must be ready to take on challenges outside of their comfort zone, and capable of developing and executing a well-structured plan using inputs from multiple cross-functional teams. You will play a pivotal role in building the infrastructure, models, and strategies key to Starlink operations around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own aggregated demand planning across ground infrastructure teams, enabling Starlink to grow and efficiently operate its network of antenna ground stations
  • Improve and report visibility into physical inventory at, or in transit to, Starlink’s global stocking locations
  • Develop predictive modeling for part consumption and operate dynamic inventory management strategies that support global operations
  • Manage Gateway site deployment schedules and work backward against key shipping, customs, and certification timelines
  • Collaborate with site engineers, reliability engineers, supply chain teams, and shipping and logistics teams to communicate timelines, deliver successful site deploys, and ensure spares are available when needed
  • Optimize workflows, tools, and dashboards for Gateway demand and deploy schedules across the 40+ countries Starlink is live in today, and many locations yet to come!
Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience working in a supply chain, production, operations, or engineering function

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working internationally or with international suppliers

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate challenging topics to executive audiences
  • External supplier management, contracting, and negotiation experience
  • Development experience in Python, C#, or other object-oriented language
  • Experience or interest in data analysis, data visualization, and/or financial analysis
  • Demonstrates commitment to SpaceX’s goals of reusability, renewability, and sustainability

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
