Intellectual Property Specialist

We are hiring immediately for an Intellectual Property Specialist

What you will be doing in this role:

You can expect to play a key role in our Intellectual Property (IP) program, managing patent and trademark processes, enforcing IP rights, and overseeing licensing. Collaborate with various teams to boost IP awareness and training, while shaping policies as a trademark specialist to safeguard our IP assets. You’ll also engage closely with engineers and gain exposure to advanced design and new product development teams.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Develop and oversee IP strategies to protect company innovations, brands, data, and intellectual property assets while assessing the program effectiveness.

• Ensure the ability to operate freely by engaging with engineering teams to safeguard innovations and review competitor patents.

• Oversee external IP counsel for quality, cost-efficient service.

• Assist the Supply Chain organization in negotiating intellectual property terms with suppliers.

• Partner with various departments and Textron innovations to drive IP monetization and licensing revenue.

What you need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required

• Curiosity or experience about product design and development

• Knowledge of Intellectual Property concepts (patents, trade secrets, trademarks, and copyrights)

• Experience interacting and communicating with legal counsel
