Air New Zealand •

Position Type: Permanent
Job Description:

Kia ora!

Air New Zealands Research and Insights team is an integral part of the business, supporting our mission to remain one of New Zealanders most loved and admired brands and continuing our legacy of holding the number one corporate reputation in New Zealand. As an organisation who holds customers extremely close to its heart, this your opportunity to join a high performance team whose primary focus is to understand and promote the voice of the customer in decision making.

Here is the exciting next step in your Insights career!

Reporting to the Chapter Lead (Head of) Research & Insights, this role offers the opportunity to use your research expertise to develop and communicate customer and market insights to inform business decision-making and future opportunities across the organisation.

You will be responsible for ensuring customer needs, experiences, values and behaviours are effectively communicated and understood by your business partners.  This role will require you to identify opportunities for insight to add value, design and autonomously manage qualitative and quantitative research projects, support more junior team members and communicate high-quality reports and insights.  It requires experience in end-to-end project management including budget management, project design and briefing, data analysis and insight generation.

The right candidate will be able identify new business savvy, customer-based insights through the interpretation of results and trends, and present key insights and recommendations to the business to enable more effective decision-making.

This role has a particular focus on the Air New Zealand brand and marketing campaigns both in NZ and some offshore markets, but with scope to also expand into other areas of the organisation.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Strong understanding of customer and market research practices, in particular brand research and voice of customer programmes.  At least 3-4 years experience at a research agency will have been an essential element of your career to date.
  • Demonstrated autonomy in the design, conduct and data analysis of market research studies, as well as insight generation and communication to a senior level
  • Excellent quality control and eye for detail are essential, as is a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at one time.
  • Experience in working and presenting at a senior level within an organisation
  • Confidence to source and use macro market trends and competitor information to enhance understanding of research results for local & offshore markets
  • Demonstrated experience in turning research data in to actionable, fresh insight
  • Confidence in communicating research data as clear, actionable stories
  • Experience with a Voice of the Customer (VOC) programme would be beneficial.
  • Experience using research software and platforms is preferred such as Medallia, Qualtrics, Q, DisplayR or similar.  Advanced Excel and Powerpoint is essential.

While the Research & Insight Chapter works within an Agile environment at Air NZ, we are not embedded in cross-functional Squads and instead work together as a team within the Brand Centre Of Excellence (COE).  We flow to work across the organisation as required based on the quarterly needs and priorities of other areas of the organisation.  Therefore, you will be a team player who can work independently with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, as well as a great fit for the Research & Insight Chapter.

You will be a great communicator and listener with the ability to bring people on a journey whilst also having an open and curious mindset.  You will have a pragmatic and growth-oriented mindset which will inform the insights you generate and how they are communicated.
