Resource Planning Analyst IFS

Your role

If you have a passion for data and reporting and would like to grow your career in a dynamic, fast paced environment – we invite you to apply for the position of Resource Planning Analyst in Aer Lingus.

Working in Operations Planning, the Resource Planning Analyst will work with people across the airline and will be responsible for producing resource plans for Inflight Services (budgeting and forecasting), ensuring the optimal number of cabin crew are in place to operate the schedule.

The Resource Planning Analyst is a direct report to the Manager, Cabin Crew Optimisation. The successful candidate will work closely with Directors, Managers and departments across the organisation, including, for example, with Director of Inflight Services, Inflight Services Training Academy, Finance, HR and Operations Control Centre (OCC). 


This is an important role that ensures we can effectively deliver on our legacy of connecting people and places across Europe and North America.

 

The principal responsibilities of the Resource Planning Analyst are as follows:

  • Developing and maintaining resource plans for Cabin Crew covering budgets, forecasts, seasonal plans and multi-seasonal plans.
  • Forecasting crew requirements, by contract type, identifying potential crew surplus or deficits and identifying recruitment needs.
  • Responsibility for producing and developing KPI reports.
  • Monitoring crew productivity against budget/forecasts and investigating variances.
  • Forecasting and monitoring all offline activity and investigating variances against budgets/forecasts.
  • Planning and distribution of cabin crew annual leave.
  • Analysing seasonal schedules to develop flying requirements using the appropriate optimisation tools, to ensure schedule is planned at lowest cost.
  • Modelling scenarios using the automated tools available in relation to alternative network planning proposals (new routes, bases) and proposed new working arrangements.
  • Ensuring a structured and transparent approach to Operations Planning processes and providing recommendations to management regarding future controls and processes.
  • Engaging with Schedules Planning and suggesting schedule changes that would reduce cabin crew employee costs.
  • Developing an understanding of the interactions between the primary computer applications applicable in this area, including but not limited to CAS, AIMS and Jeppessen.
  • Acting as a focal point of coordination within the Crew Supply Chain between Schedules Planning, Cabin Crew Management, Operations Control Centre and Human Resources.
  • Completing other Operations Planning assignments as required.

Your qualifications and key criteria

To be considered for the role of Resource Planning Analyst, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Financial/Accounting background.
  • Proven experience in Data Analytics.
  • Well-developed IT skills, Tableau, proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to systematically gather, test, review, monitor, analyse and report on information to a high standard.
  • Experience in gathering and analysing requirements, assessing data availability and developing reporting.
  • High level of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to become familiar with new systems and relatively large and complex data sets on a timely and unassisted basis.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, frequently under pressure, while remaining calm, proactive, resourceful and efficient.
  • Strong oral and written skills with the talent to present facts and opinions articulately and objectively.
  • Strong cross-functional and coordination abilities, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of an integrated team to meet deadlines.
  • Possession of a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Strong organisational skills, combined with attention to detail and working to tight deadlines.
  • A high level of flexibility, and the enthusiasm to work effectively in an ever-changing environment.
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • In possession of a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • In possession of or be able to obtain an airside security pass.

Desirable criteria

A Working knowledge of resource planning and rostering aspects of an airline or logistics company would be advantageous.
