What Will You Be Doing?
The Strategic Sourcing department is an important and impactful department within the company that has high visibility with senior leadership and executives. The team spearheads management of the airlines relationships with the OEMs and largest Tech Ops vendors and is responsible for leading the cross-functional sourcing and contracting process for all key areas of spend.
The Senior Analyst of Strategic Sourcing role is an integral part of the department, responsible for aiding in managing the various strategic sourcing, OEM and cost saving initiatives throughout the organization, including gathering project requirements, researching vendors, issuing and managing RF(x)s, financial modeling, contract negotiation, contract and relationship management as well as providing support to the Management of Strategic Sourcing for various ad hoc forecasting, financial analysis and contract management projects that are frequently required by senior management.
Essential Functions
- Gather project requirements from internal customers, develop internal business cases, and create a consensus on key requirements.
- Create financial models for strategic sourcing projects to facilitate the contract analysis and approval process.
- Analyze market to identify potential suppliers and screen their capabilities.
- Issue and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to suppliers and manage the RFP process.
- Assist with fleet-related projects including financial modeling, contract negotiation, execution and management.
- Analyze key contracts with the major suppliers.
- Build and maintain key relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Assist in developing finance and business presentations such as Board of Director presentations and lenders presentations to support key transactions and other initiatives.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal customers to measure contract adherence and improve vendor performance.
- Analyze current contracts for risk mitigation along with financial and operational improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Business, Supply Chain or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience required.
- Experience in strategic sourcing/procurement, fleet, treasury, finance and/or MRO related aspects of airlines preferred.
- Previous airline experience preferred.
- Prior experience analyzing, interpreting and negotiating contracts preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills including experience presenting to management and outside parties in a clear and efficient format
- Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Competent in financial analysis and assessment
- Focused on accuracy with analytical rigor and thoroughness, and acute attention to detail
- Strong project management skillset including being proactive, detail-oriented and well-organized
