The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the Global Data & Analytics team in either Hazelwood, MO; North Charleston, SC; Mesa, AZ or Seattle, WA

In this role, you will be responsible for solving high-priority projects by leveraging your expertise in data science. The selected candidate will be working closely with business stakeholders, you will decompose complex problems, develop high-quality models, and deploy finished solutions to drive direct impact. Our team in Information Technology and Data Analytics (IT&DA) works across Boeing business units and functions to simplify processes, automate repetitive tasks, and solve problems using data while leveraging our subject matter experts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives

  • Decompose complex problems into manageable tasks and develop data-driven solutions

  • Determine the most appropriate machine learning models to resolve the business problems

  • Utilize natural language processing techniques for feature extraction

  • Work with large language models to extract insights and drive decision-making

  • Apply machine learning algorithms for multi-class classification, considering imbalanced data scenarios

  • Access, clean and join disparate data sets to create comprehensive and reliable data sources

  • Deploy models in production environments, ensuring maintainability, scalability and reliability

  • Collaborate with business partners to iteratively improve baseline solutions for increased accuracy and coverage

  • Maintain good software development practices, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership

  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: machine learning, language modeling, computer vision, time-series analysis, unsupervised clustering, algorithmic foundations of optimization, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, sampling methods, or data mining

  • 5+ years of experience working with projects, teams, and/or leaders in the analytics and/or data science space

  • 5+ years of experience with the following data analytics methods Machine Learning, Simulation, Statistics, Data Mining, Regression, Survival Analysis, Time series models

  • 5+ years of experience working with Structured Query Language (SQL)

  • 3+ years of experience with machine learning related open source libraries including, but not limited to: Hadoop, Spark, MLLib, SciKit-Learn, TensorFlow, Theano, etc.

  • 3+ years of experience researching and applying large language and generative AI models

  • 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing Natural Language Processing (NLP) models using machine learning techniques including neural networks, deep learning and transformer architectures

  • Experience using Gitlab/Github/Bitbucket for version control, Artifactory for deployment, and Containerization including Docker

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work or military experience

  • 3+ with python, ML Ops and Data Ops frameworks

  • Experience working in a Linux environment

Typical Education & Experience:

Typically, 9 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Summary pay range: $135,150 – $195,500
