Position Summary


Outstanding opportunity to join the Leonardo DRS material planning team in Dallas, TX. as a Senior Planner. 


Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications and Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in Planning (Either Production or Material)
  • Has proficiency and knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • Solid understanding of business processes and functional inter-relationships
  • Strong background in project material management
  • Extensive experience in production planning
  • Skilled in the use of Excel, Excel Pivot Tables, Power Point, Word, as well as SharePoint
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to understand how rework WOs/POs/Supply affect Supply/Demand on workbench
  • Has the ability to read drawings and understand what they call out
  • Know BOMs and ensure BOM accuracy and impacts to MRP – recognize when critical data elements are wrong and/or incorrect
  • Validates questions regarding their work, by reviewing procedures. (self-guided work-checks) and can ensure adherence to work instructions 
  • Able to suggest updates to procedures and write draft updates for their suggestions 
  • Consistently perform reliable transactions with little to no error. 
  • Use analytical skills and critical thinking to confirm/validate/correct MRP Action Messages. 
  • Consistently display Intimate tactical knowledge of the program status and road bumps in near, mid-term and long-term horizon.  (30-60-90 Day outlooks for Production and 6month+ for Supply Chain issues in Material Planning)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Material Management, Manufacturing process and Supply Chain. 
  • (Material Planner) Purposefully initiates and continually works to develop and enhance communication, developing relationships with Supply Chain organization by supporting their needs & working together to solve problems and uncover solutions
  • Common understanding of projects and Abbrevs, project planning groups, and netting groups
  • Proactively shares information and requirements 
  • Can appropriately escalate situations 
  • Very familiar with the different roles in the IPT and Operations support functions and understands the value that each function brings 
  • Drive consistent communications between planning, project accounting, and project management
  • Manage overall workload and align resources as needed to maintain balance 
  • Has ability to learn program knowledge and understands customer needs and priorities
  • Seeks out additional responsibility to grow and develop their breadth of skills and knowledge base

Working Conditions

  • Normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work and local travel
