Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Stress Analyst to join the Nacelle Stress team in Seal Beach, CA.
The Nacelle Stress team supports service requests, customer solutions and predictive/proactive projects, for all in-service Boeing-owned Nacelle Structures.
Since Boeing Customer Support operates on a 24/7/365 basis, employees must be willing to work flexible hours and/or non-standard shifts to support our fleets. International and domestic travel may be required.
Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Mid-Level or Senior Stress Analysts.
Position Responsibilities:
Supports customer service requests with development of technical dispositions, instructions, and designs for damage allowance/treatment and deviations to nacelle structures design and repairs (Inlets, Fan Cowls, Thrust Reverser/Core Cowls, and Exhausts)
Develops, leads, and reviews urgent (hours to days), longer-term (weeks to months), simple, moderate, and significantly complex repair schemes and unique substantiations for metallic and composite parts including preparation of 8100-9 forms for AD-affected structure, AMOCs, and major repairs
Develops creative and innovative structural repair analytical methods, predictive/proactive projects, and improvements to existing SRMs and support documentation in support of our customers and development of Boeing Nacelle Repair methodologies
Participates in current and future design/development initiatives to advocate for customer concerns/needs and improved supportability, maintainability, and reparability of nacelle structures
Provides composite repair development expertise for Nacelle structures within a challenging thermal, vibration and aerodynamic environment
Leverages our Customer Support and larger Boeing networks to support customer needs
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
3+ years of experience in Structural Analysis
3+ years of experience with structural analysis methods and repair principles (e.g., fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques, damage tolerance methods used in maintenance programs)
2+ years of experience analyzing and conducting root cause analysis, in addition to developing dispositions for design non-conformances
2+ years of experience with structural repair
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
7 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Master’s or Doctorate or Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (ABET preferred)
Experience in Propulsion/Nacelle structures
Experience in composite and metallic structures
Typical Education/Experience:
Mid-Level (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range for mid-level (Level 3): $102,000 – $138,000
Summary pay range for senior (Level 4): $124,100 – $167,900
