Purpose of Position

Apply theory, principles, and related knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering to assemble, test, and modify machinery and equipment.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Read dials and meters to determine amperage, voltage, electrical output and input at specific operating temperature to analyze parts performance.

  • Assemble, install, integrate, calibrate, test, debug, and repair electronic and electrical assembly systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.

  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.

  • Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.

  • Review existing electrical engineering documents and criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material.

  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.

  • Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings, and recommendations.

  • Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems.

  • Meet or exceed standard job times.
