Job Description:

ACET is seeking an Electronics Maintenance Technician II to work alongside the team at our Havelock, NC location.

The individual will function as an Electronics Maintenance Technician and member of the H-60 helicopter modification team’s wiring harness shop. This individual will be responsible for the manufacture, test, and troubleshooting of aircraft electrical wiring harnesses, basic electronic parts, components, products, or integrated circuitry for new and existing electronic equipment and other hardware systems and accomplishing day-to-day workload requirements in support of contract requirements. This individual will provide technical assistance and support to the team as it pertains to engineering changes made to the H-60 helicopter. This individual will develop project specifications to assist in determining the design approach and parameters to move the product/system to manufacture or implementation, assist in developing and defining quality standards in accordance with company and contractual requirements, assist in developing qualification test procedures, and conduct qualification testing, conduct testing and integration testing for functionality and limits, examine new electronic components and circuits and creates basic prototypes for beta testing and for customer demonstration.

The Electronics Technician Maintenance II, based on experience, applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturer manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high-frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by the supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. 

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the aviation electrical field with previous wire fabrication/repair experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Skilled/qualified in Naval Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent Military/Civilian training.
  • Extensive training in maintenance testing and diagnostic routine designed for radio frequency and/or millimeter wave equipment and be able to perform tests and measurements of an electronic/electro-mechanical/computer nature, in accordance with military and commercial standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot related product malfunctions, modify, wire, and fabricate devices related to work, as required.
  • Must be able to understand and perform work outlined by technical directives and electrical engineering drawings, be computer literate, and function as a team member.
  • Detail-oriented with good time management skills.
  • Must have experience with complex terminations and cable manufacturing principles.
  • Previous experience with aviation component manufacture and repair.
  • Must possess a high degree of expertise in aircraft electrical wire repair and proper termination techniques.
  • Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment.
  • Utilization of blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and manufacturers' drawings and sketches in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Capability to perform troubleshooting and rewiring of complex wiring harness assemblies and components.
  • Familiarity with acceptance and verification testing using multi-meter, milliohm meter, AC, and DC power Supplies.
  • Must be able to complete maintenance documentation accurately using required forms, as required by job assignment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds independently.
  • Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required.
  • Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, and squatting, including working overhead. The position requires sitting and/or standing at workbenches and wire boards 99% of the day.
  • Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flight line.
  • Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
  • If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
  • If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
  • If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
  • Position requires repetitive hand use using wire cutters, crimpers, etc. 
  • Travel may be required.
