Advanced Project Engineer – ATE / Electronic Test (6–12 Years)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Advanced Project Engineer with 6–12 years of experience in ATE project execution and aerospace electronic test systems. The candidate will be responsible for managing the design, development, integration, documentation, deployment, and compliance of automatic test equipment hardware/software solutions for functional, structural, ESS, qualification, production, and development testing. The role requires strong cross-functional coordination, technical understanding, execution ownership, MSA awareness, and ability to contribute to electronic test strategy and process compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project engineering activities for ATE hardware/software design, development, integration, documentation, and deployment.
- Plan and coordinate end-to-end execution for test solutions covering functional test, structural test, ESS, qualification testing, production testing, and development testing.
- Track project scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables for ATE development programs.
- Coordinate with hardware, software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and program teams to ensure timely delivery and build readiness.
- Drive preparation and review of project documents including requirements, architecture descriptions, interface documents, verification plans, validation reports, deployment manuals, acceptance records, and release packages.
- Support system integration, test readiness reviews, design reviews, defect tracking, and technical action closure.
- Ensure adherence to configuration management, revision control, traceability, and engineering documentation standards.
- Support qualification activities, production transition, deployment planning, user documentation, and handover packages.
- Coordinate MSA activities including repeatability and reproducibility studies, test capability checks, calibration readiness, and measurement system performance review.
- Contribute to product-level electronic test strategy by aligning project execution with verification coverage, manufacturing needs, and deployment objectives.
- Monitor and support compliance with defined test processes, internal standards, quality procedures, and customer-mandated documentation practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Aerospace, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6–12 years of relevant experience in project engineering, test systems engineering, or ATE development in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability environments.
- Strong exposure to ATE hardware/software systems, integration activities, and engineering documentation discipline.
- Experience in functional, structural, ESS, qualification, production, and development test environments.
- Good understanding of the test lifecycle from concept through deployment and sustainment.
- Experience in cross-functional project coordination, issue management, and engineering review practices.
- Working knowledge of change management, compliance tracking, and release management processes.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to LabVIEW, TestStand, NI hardware, PXI, DAQ, instrumentation control, or similar ATE platforms.
- Understanding of aerospace product verification workflows and production test requirements.
- Knowledge of MSA, GR&R, calibration, uncertainty analysis, and test correlation concepts.
- Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems, project planning tools, risk registers, and issue management systems.
- Experience with deployment planning, installation readiness, and user acceptance activities.
- Awareness of test process compliance audits, process adherence metrics, and documentation quality requirements.
