The Aircraft Information Management System (AIMS) team is seeking experienced and curious systems and Avionics design engineers seeking continuous technical and programmatic challenges to drive and support improvements to the 777 aircraft fleet as part of our AIMS Platform team. AIMS is a IMA hosting system in so far as it hosts multiple flight critical functions within the one Hardware platform including Flight Management, Displays, Flight Deck

Communication Function, Central Maintenance Function and many others. AIMS Engineers interface with all of these hosted systems teams to ensure our hardware and software design is fully integrated and meets regulatory requirements. This central vantage point in the Platform team provides an excellent exposure into the design and operation of modern transport aircraft systems.  

Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Everett, WA is seeking an Aircraft Information Management System (AIMS) Designer Engineer Experienced &61; level 3, Senior &61; level 4) to join the AIMS team.

Position Responsibilities (Level 3)

Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements. Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications. Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements. Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle. Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

The roles involve ensuring that product improvements, in-service issues, and regulatory mandates are comprehensively vetted, properly implemented and certified on schedule using a disciplined systems engineering approach that embodies quality from requirements validation through lab and airplane test verification.

Successful candidates will also be exposed to and contribute to the certification lifecycle of our Software Block Point development programs from cert plan inception, through test, to FAA/EASA regulatory approval that will provide an in-depth exposure to the current evolving regulatory landscape.

Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle. Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs. Makes recommendations for technology investments.

The roles involve ensuring that product improvements, in-service issues, and regulatory mandates are comprehensively vetted, properly implemented and certified on schedule using a disciplined systems engineering approach that embodies quality from requirements validation through lab and airplane test verification.

Work Authorization:

This position is a Hybrid position, with the majority of time on site (4 out of 5 days)

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related STEM field.

  • 3&43; Years of experience do you have in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

  • 3&43; Years of Experience of Avionics, Electrical, Software, Cabin Systems, Inflight Entertainment Systems, or Electro-Magnetic Effects.

Typical Education/ Experience:

Level 3:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science,
mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master&43;3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 4:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD&43;4 years related work experience, Master&43;7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Salary Range:

Experienced (Level 3) $102,850 - $139,150

Senior (Level 4) $128,350 - $173,650
