The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Compliance and Certification Software Engineer (Associate/Experienced/Senior) to join the Boeing Poland Software Engineering team.

This is NOT a coding/programming position. The selected individuals will interface with suppliers and internal Boeing organizations to support development of new software and updates, ensure application of industry standards and Boeing requirements.

The software engineer is expected to apply the guidelines from DO-178B/C to software development projects, in order to support compliance and certification activities. The documentation reviews for this role range from requirement, design, test, quality plan reviews to test automation reviews and problem report reviews.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support suppliers’ software development for airborne systems.

  • Review and approve suppliers’ software lifecycle data (i.e. software architecture, software design document, software requirement document) throughout software lifecycle processes; from planning, requirements, development/implementation, verification and certification phases

  • Provide software technical expertise and guidance in assisting suppliers designing software and products to meet FAA regulations.

  • Perform software integration test and evaluation to ensure software functionality met Boeing’s requirements.

  • Provide showing of compliance roles in accordance with FAA regulations associated with software development

  • Assist in stage of involvement (SOI) reviews/audits, as well as Requirements Reviews, Design Reviews, and Test Readiness Reviews

  • Evaluate technical and/or schedule risks and opportunities to mitigate risks

  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and supply chain personnel

  • Manage software development milestones and performance metrics to track and meet product schedules

  • Review and disposition problem reports written by Systems Engineers and Suppliers

  • Provide software inputs to certification plans and summaries to support compliance findings

The position must meet export control compliance requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2: 2&43; years of experience in full software development life-cycle and using Project Management Methodologies, including developing project plans, managing issues and risks

  • Level 3: 3&43; years of experience in full software development life-cycle and using Project Management Methodologies, including developing project plans, managing issues and risks

  • Level 4: 5&43; years of experience in full software development life-cycle and using Project Management Methodologies, including developing project plans, managing issues and risks

  • Knowledge of multiple programming languages: Java, C&43;&43;, and Python

  • Experienced with working with customers or supplier engagement.

  • Experienced with software user acceptance test processes, software integration test, test plan, requirements and results tracing.

  • Knowledge of the DO-178C (or equivalent) lifecycle is a plus

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master&43;3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD&43;4 years related work experience, Master&43;7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
