Job Description

  • Provide Technical guidance regarding the selection of components to design/development Engineers, Quality, Sourcing and Purchasing
  • Assist Hardware Development Engineers in the selection of components that best fit their design requirements and to ensure that all purchased parts on the BOM are designed and manufactured in compliance to the latest RoHS Directives
  • Research and approves alternate sources to replace End Of Life (EOL) parts or determines Last Time Buy (LTB) quantities
  • Comprehensive understanding of Military Standard Components, Specifications and Environments.
  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Author ECR / ECOs written against component and specifications; creates Spec Control Drawings (SCD)
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirement
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

   

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with the design and production of avionics or other high reliability products
  • Working knowledge of Component & Supplier Management (CSM) and/or Parts Link Tool

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of PTC Windchill 11 Product Lifecycle Management software
  • Working knowledge of Mentor Graphics DxDesigner Component Library (EDM – Xpedition Data Management) and creation of new parts in the Component Library including electrical symbol, mechanical footprint (cell), mapping, and parametric information.
  • Possess a basic understanding of accepted civil and military aviation safety methodologies
  • Understanding and use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • PC proficiency

The base pay range for this position is $126,720 to $211,200. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.  This posting is expected to close on April 26th, 2024.
