Composite Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description:

In the frame of the new challenges within AIRBUS Cádiz, a vacancy for Composite Manufacturing Process Engineer has been settled down. The newcomer will join the Composites ME Team to be part of a well-meshed group with an extraordinary engagement and team spirit.

However, this vertical link with the production line, will be also complemented with your participation different transversal and international projects where you will break the limits of your creativity.  

What are we expecting from you?

We need you to assume a leadership role model when defining and improving the manufacturing processes. This position will demand you a deep understanding of the technical procedures, being a reference of knowledge in composite technology.

Additionally, due to the link with the production line, you will need to fit with the production requirements in terms of shifts and dedication, facing it with the expected engagement attitude.

And finally but not least, we will need you to be at reference level in team working and professionality.

Task & accountabilities:

• Translate the design into manufacturing specifications.

• Develop and maintain manufacturing structure.

• Develop, compile and control technical instructions to manufacture the product.

• Define and reach an agreement with the Production about the as planned structure such as lead-time, manpower feature, line balancing, labor time, cost and quality constraints.

• To introduce sustainability as part of the process definition for legacy and new development products.

• To lead improvement projects coordinating multifunctional teams.

• To ensure that our processes are defined following the health and safety requirements.

• To identify and mitigate process failure modes.

Academic education and trainings:

• Engineering Degree or equivalent.

• Industrial or Manufacturing post-grade will be appreciated.

• Additional trainings related with Sustainability, H&S and CAD will be appreciated.

Previous experience:

• At least 10 years in Composites Manufacturing Engineering working with AFP and ATL technologies.

• Participation in E2E industrialization phase of composite parts (variety on part typology will be appreciated).

• Contribution to sustainability initiatives.

• To be habituated in the use of lean manufacturing tools and procedures.

• Previous responsibilities in the requirement definition and acceptability of Industrial Means.

Required skills:
To be a successful candidate you will need the following mandatory skills (evidences will be requested):

• Proficiency level in:

  • Practical Problem Solving for composite detail parts.

  • pFMEA management.

  • Line balancing (time measurement, barchart generation, NVA/VA analysis, etc.). Previous experience with MTM or similar tools will be appreciated.

  • Implementation of Design and Manufacturing part Modification.

• Autonomous level for:

  • Project Leadership (previous experience will be appreciated)

  • MAIT Methods/Engineering documentation, Manufacturing Products requirements.

  • Dealing with DMU for standard ME Composites activities.

  • English and Spanish at composite/industrial language.

• Basic knowledge of:

  • AIRBUS industrial systems tools (SAP, SPRINT, MES, etc) applied to composite constraints.

  • H&S requirements for process and tool definition.

Soft skills:

• Good sense of organization and responsibility.

• Analytical thinker.

• Autonomous and proactive person.

• Team spirit.
