Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is currently bidding on a Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) contract and hiring for a Cybersecurity Engineer II. This position supports US Navy Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems engineering, enterprise cybersecurity implementations and operations, advanced technology, and project management services.
This is a full-time position with full benefits.
Place of performance for this position is at one of these Government Sites: Washington DC Navy Yard, Charleston SC, San Diego CA, Norfolk VA or Jacksonville FL.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
Applying the US Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to:
- Prepare, implement, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policy, to include Assessment and Authorization requirements.
- Plan, implement, upgrade, and/or monitor cybersecurity measures to improve cyber defense and maintain a cyber resilient network.
- Assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities for risks and propose and implement remediation actions or risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and electronic infrastructure.
- Respond to computer security breaches to re-establish protections and make required reports.
- Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support accreditation and other program protection activities
- Conduct technical evaluation of information system designs, focusing on information security aspects and accreditation
- Monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to safeguard information systems, networks and databases
- IAVA scanning and reporting – can read and interpret server maintenance in support of IAVM and STIG requirements
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3 years of professional experience with cybersecurity engineering
- Knowledge of hardware and software installation, testing, and operation
- Knowledge of AR 25-2, Information Assurance
- Working knowledge of the US Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
- IAVA scanning and reporting – can read and interpret
- Server maintenance in support of IAVM and STIG requirements
- Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
- Understanding of IP Networking, switches
- Understanding of Host Based Security System (HBSS)
- Basic knowledge of VMWare ESX, Hyper-V (or other virtualization platforms)
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Domain Name System DNS
Degree:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science or equivalent.
Certifications:
- IAT II
- Information Assurance Management (IAM) or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level I (position-based) per DoD 8570.1M

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $115,000 to $160,000 depending on qualifications and experience (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAGs total compensation package for employees.
