Job Description:

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Domain Architect for Engineering (d/f/m) to join our team in Stevenage, Hertfordshire or in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

We provide integrated solutions for the Engineering business products and services as well as to the future UK National programmes. This engineering domain covers the following business capabilities:

•            Mechanical & Electrical Design

•            Scientific Computing - Simulation & HPC platforms

•            PDM/PLM & Configuration Management

•            Software Development

•            Systems Engineering

SECURITY CLEARANCE: The successful candidate will be subject to SC (Security Check) in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Occasional travel

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM 

• Design engineering domain-specific target architectures and underlying design principles to steer specific solution architectures in Programs/Projects
• Co-create required architecture artifacts with Enterprise Architects, e.g., architecture blueprints and technical debt backlog
• Manage domain IT specific technology lifecycle in alignment with enterprise architects and translates it into a domain transformation roadmap
• Act as Lead Architect in Programs/Projects when related to large & complex solution crossing domains
• Account for cross-architecture layer / end-to-end IT architecture consistency within the domain, modelling this architecture following open standards TOGAF and Archimate as well as Airbus internal processes and guidelines
• Drive architecture effectiveness from a functional end-to-end perspective with cross-layer responsibility to ensure close integration of layers
• Support solution architects or IT specialists by identifying and evaluating solution options
• Act as an internal consultant and independent moderator in domain specific design discussions supporting and guiding other stakeholders
• Assess deviation from standards, recommend standard alternatives and document technical debt
• Functional and technical architecture support as part of respective SAFe large solutions and release trains

ABOUT YOU – Your Skills

• Experience and outstanding knowledge of underlaying infrastructure, network and security components
• Experience in Agile & applying the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Experience & knowledge in TOGAF architecture framework and Archimate modelling language
• Knowledge of Prolaborate, Sparx Enterprise Architect Tool, Jira and Confluence
• Outstanding process, project management and communication abilities
• Motivation to deliver successfully with a team, focus on quality and commitment
• A creative thinker able to propose and support new ways to increase the overall service quality
