Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafts and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings in collaboration with mechanical engineers. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Actively contribute to the code base including peer review of code. Initiate software quality testing, firmware evaluation as they apply to product or process quality.
  • Understands and implements standardized drafting techniques to produce drawings utilizing computer aided design in accordance with current engineering drafting standards/requirements. Determines scaling; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning; prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations.
  • Works with contract administrators and ITC dept to implement correct technical data and security markings on engineering documentation.
  • Facilitates the release of drawings in PLM by addressing rejection comments and actively communicating with key contributors such as engineers, configuration management, and program management.
  • Performs variety of additional activities in support of the mechanical engineering team in areas such as process improvement and purchasing.

Basic qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience using 3d modeling software such as PTC/Creo, Solid works, Siemens NX, etc.
  • The ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • General knowledge of Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with additive manufacturing (3D Printing, Rapid Prototyping, etc...).
  • Experience with Machining (Mill, Lathe, Router, etc...)
  • Effective communicator; written and oral
  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter
  • A US Govt Secret clearance
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5-2009.
  • Experience with redlines and engineering change paper documentation.
Salary Range: $44,600 - $74,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
