Airbus Helicopters is looking for a General Environment & Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer (f/m) to join our Design Office based in Marignane, France.

As a System Engineer in the field of electro-magnetic hazard (EMH) and General Environment you will take part to the development and definition of aircraft and system designs.

You will be covering programs in all development phases starting with the early concept phase, throughout the development and certification of our product lines, up to the in-service support of the flying fleet.

Your challenges:

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for the definition and implementation of EMH requirements for new systems including the identification of applicable certification requirements.

• Influence and trade aircraft architectures and aircraft systems to achieve optimized solution that are resistant to electro-magnetic induced effects and abnormal environmental conditions.

• Define and control the qualification (procedure, tests, analysis) with EMH and environment requirements for equipment items under the responsibility of AH

• Assist the System Design Responsible (SDR) in the conception of components and installation of equipment items complying with environmental requirements, and to provide final evidences at rotorcraft level

• Identify, define, monitor and analyze tests at rotorcraft, system and equipment level performed in the frame of development or qualification.

• Lead certification processes, create certification plans and certification summaries together with the authorities for EMH and General Environment aspects.

• Define Rotorcraft Bonding Test Specifications for Production and Support Final Assembly Lines in case of deviations

• Define the work scope for the EMH related activities, create tasks for internal and sub-contracted partners and will be responsible for the follow-up and steering of the engineering activities.

• Ensure lessons learnt, continuous improvement incl. Method & Tools and innovation, cost reduction and efficiency improvement

Your profile:

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• You have successfully completed your Master of Science degree (or equivalent) in Electronics, Electromagnetism or a comparable field of study

• You have relevant professional experience in the fields of General Environment, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), High-Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) and Lightning Effects

• You are characterized by your autonomous way of working, desire to continuously learn and evolve personally and technically

• Teamwork is just as important to you as it is to us

• Good written and spoken English and French language skills round off your profile

This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
