Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Everett, WA is seeking Electrical Technical Designer (Associate level 2, Experienced level 3, Senior level 4) to join the Mechanical Hydraulics Organization in the Hydraulic and Landing Gear Electrical Indication & Control System team.

Position Responsibilities (Level 2):

  • Creates, develops and maintains elementary systems designs (Hydraulic and Landing Gear systems) by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and completing assigned tasks.

  • Reviews existing design requirements based on technical data.

  • Develops, prepares and maintains engineering documentation, data and incorporates basic design changes. Utilizes standard design practices and requirements.

  • Contributes to validation of engineering system design, functionality and the overall system. Ensures compliance with requirements, standards and applicable regulatory authority and maintains the integrity of the product.

  • Contributes to engineering design disposition on discrepancies. Investigates less complex manufacturing and test problems.

  • Provides requested input for development of engineering statements of work for electrical/electronic design deliverables.

  • Supports coordination of supplier or partner equipment, tools and processes with Boeing tools and processes. Assists work group with supplier or partner integration during the design and build process.

Position Responsibilities (Level 3):

  • Creates, develops and maintains systems designs (Hydraulic and Landing Gear systems) by selecting components, preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and integrating system elements to satisfy customer and producibility requirements. Checks others work for procedural compliance.

  • Interprets and develops design requirements based on technical data (e.g., customer inputs, system offerability). Verifies compliance with customer requirements.

  • Develops and maintains engineering documentation and data (e.g., system block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, wire bundles, hardware components, parts lists, product data descriptions, production acceptance tests, Technical Publications source data) by applying company, industry and governmental standards (e.g., design, drafting, parts) to specify design elements.

  • Validates engineering system design and functionality by performing product performance analyses (e.g., installation, reliability, maintainability, fault isolation, failure modes and effects) and sequentially integrating and testing parts, sub-systems and the overall system. Ensures compliance with requirements, standards and applicable regulatory authority and maintains the integrity of the product. Researches and resolves producibility issues.

  • Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests) by investigating manufacturing and test problems and researching and analyzing product data (e.g., drawings, parts standards, specifications). Coordinates with cross-functional groups and suppliers (e.g., design, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing) to identify solutions.

  • Develops detailed engineering statements of work for electrical/electronic design deliverables.

  • Coordinates supplier or partner equipment, tools and processes with Boeing tools and processes. Supports the supplier or partner during the design and build process.

Researches design solutions and recommends process improvements. Checks others work for technical accuracy. As required, assigns work and disseminates information to work group. Provides work status to management. Leads process improvement efforts.

  • Interfaces with customers to collect technical data. Manages, interprets and develops design requirements based on technical data (e.g., customer inputs, system offerability). Verifies compliance with customer requirements.

  • Develops and maintains engineering documentation and data (e.g., system block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, wire bundles, hardware components, parts lists, product data descriptions, production acceptance tests, Technical Publications source data) by applying company, industry and governmental standards (e.g., design, drafting, parts) to specify design elements. Checks others work for technical accuracy. As required, assigns work and disseminates information to work group. Provides work status to management. Leads process improvement efforts.

  • Validates complex engineering system design and functionality by performing product performance analyses (e.g., installation, reliability, maintainability, fault isolation, failure modes and effects) and sequentially integrating and testing parts, sub-systems and the overall system. Ensures compliance with requirements, standards and applicable regulatory authority and maintains the integrity of the product. Researches and resolves producibility issues. Provides technical guidance to others to ensure compliance with requirements and standards.

  • Develops detailed engineering statements of work for electrical/electronic design deliverables. Coordinates with Change Board(s) to provide input for execution plans (e.g., work hours and flow, task times, task descriptions).

  • Coordinates supplier or partner equipment, tools and processes with Boeing tools and processes. Supports the supplier or partner during the design and build process. Conducts or participates in design reviews. Communicates Boeing requirements to suppliers or partners. Resolves supplier/partner technical issues.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. 

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Associates Degree or related certification and 1+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

  • Minimum of 1 years of applicable experience working with and/or creating wiring diagrams/schematics, wire assembly and installation design, production illustration drawings, and form-board drawings.  

  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment and have good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):  

  • Experience working with Boeing systems, including DCCS, ECAS, ETAC and Certification Plan Owner activities.

  • Experience using wire design tools such as WIRS, MAPPER, CADDS and/or Capital Logic.

Typical Education / Experience:

Level 2

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years related work experience, etc.)

Level 3

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years related work experience, 5 years’ related work experience, etc.)

Level 4

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years related work experience, 8 years’ related work experience, etc.)

Salary Range:

Associates: (Level 2) $56,950 - $77,050

Experienced (Level 3) $68,000 - $92,000

Senior (Level 4) $80,750 - $109,250
