Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
Support the development of Electronic Modules utilized in the control and monitoring of various systems on-board the aircraft. Tasks include documentation and performance of hardware and software verification, review of electronics schematics, layout, and code, and certification documentation of Textron-developed electronics.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design review, hardware and software verification testing, and certification documentation for new or modified printed circuit board modules for aircraft
- Apply electrical engineering theory and the operation of electronic test equipment to functionally test and troubleshoot avionics/electrical modules or systems
- Validate electronic circuit design concepts using SPICE or similar software
- Review printed circuit board schematic and layouts
- Review VHDL code used to modify and maintain Programmable Logic Devices
- Review ASM and C used to modify and maintain microcontrollers
- Support the preparation of engineering certification reports to document system designs that meet the requirements of certification authorities
- Participate in cross functional teams to understand and gather business requirements for new or updated processes
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering Technology
- Other related Engineering field
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience or relative aviation technical or systems experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with use of electronic test equipment
- Strong computer skills
- Time management skills are required to work multiple concurrent projects of various size and scope
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional and diplomatic demeanor
- Familiarity with RTCA DO-178, DO-254, and DO-160 desired
