Embedded Training Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Engineering Role in our Systems Engineering Area. This role will develop and maintain Embedded Training designs and Virtual Simulation & Virtual Training systems for Military Vehicles.
  • Design top-down solutions.
  • Support external organizations in design efforts.
  • Provide guidance to USG in requirements (SOW).
  • Develop internal and external requirements.
    • Develop system / subsystem requirements.
    • Develop requirements for hardware.
    • Develop requirements for software.
    • Develop qualification and test procedures for hardware.
    • Develop test procedures for software.
  • Oversee implementation / production efforts of training.
    • Oversee vehicle system design & integration efforts.
    • Oversee hardware design efforts.
    • Oversee software design efforts.
  • Manage external vendors.
    • Track and verify work completed by external vendors.
    • Receive and integrate software and hardware.
  • Coordinate with internal organizations to:
    • Align scheduled activities.
    • Adjust work activities to meet completion dates.
    • Report deviations that would impact project effort completion.
  • Monitor vehicle system architecture changes to ensure training capability is not compromised.
  • Continuous coordination with PEM organization to stay abreast of changes that may impact training.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline; Electrical / Computer / Software Engineering desired.
  • 10+ years related engineering experience sought but will consider fewer years with advanced degree.
  • General requirements for Embedded Training expert:
    • System /subsystem design.
    • Hardware design and development.
    • Software development and processes.
    • Embedded Training design and deployment experience.
    • Virtual Simulation and Virtual Training system developmental experience.
    • Logistics background in Training development.
    • Engineering background and experience in:
    • Experience with Cyber guidelines and restrictions.
    • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, VMS, CAN, and Ethernet.
    • Contacts / connection and relationship within the training community.
  • Experience with ensuring full compliance of system requirements from Performance Specification down to component level testing.
  • Ability to fully comprehend system level architecture.
  • Experience with full requirements traceability from System Requirements down to component level requirements and to verification.
  • Experience developing customer deliverables from System Requirements.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Must be able to be on-site 80 or more (not a remote or hybrid position).
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline; Electrical Engineering desired.
  • Work experience in the Defense Industry, preferably in land-based systems and working with the US Government as a customer.
  • Experience interacting with government agencies:
    • USG TACOM senior management (Major and above or Civilian equivalent).
    • USG ACM training development team (Civilian and soldiers).
    • USG Picatinny - CROWS-J development team (Civilian).
    • USG Redstone Arsenal - CROWS-J, ATGM and SHORAD (Civilian).
    • USG Logistics - Training, Fielding, PL effort, IETMs (Civilian and soldiers).
    • USG PM Shield senior management - SHORAD (Civilian and soldiers).
  • Experience interacting with External vendors:
    • InVeris
    • Pratt Miller
    • Oshkosh Defense
    • MOOG
    • DRS
  • Works well in team and individually.
  • Is highly personable.
  • Enjoys virtual gaming.
