Engineer- Aerospace Systems II

Renton, WA / Space Coast, FL / Denver, CO

Contract Position

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall health of the vehicle CAD model, maintaining it free from errors and enforcing best modeling practices.
  • Manage the vehicle CAD model product structure and ensure it aligns with build plans.
  • Responsible for the vehicle engineering bill of materials, including making sure the eBOM builds correctly and matches the CAD data.
  • Track and address inaccuracies in the vehicle CAD model, such as missing or duplicate parts
  • Audit part and assembly attributes to verify correct assignment and coordinate with teams to fill out attributes when missing or incorrect.
  • Reconcile differences between the Master Equipment List and the CAD model and assist with the input of correct mass property assignment in the CAD model.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related subject area
  • Successful candidates in this role typically have 5+ years of related experience.
  • Strong social skills and experience working in a highly integrated cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience with CAD software (Creo Preferred)
  • Experience with large assembly management in a CAD environment
  • Experience with product lifecycle management tools (Windchill Preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Desired (but not required):
    • Experience with top-down design principles
    • Experience with inventory management systems
    • Experience with Configuration Management practices
    • Spacecraft integration and test experience
