Job overview and responsibilities

Seasoned Cloud DevOps Engineer that creates, maintains, supports, and improves complex cloud operations for United’s Revenue Systems that runs mission-critical and highly complex modules such as Network Planning, Revenue Management, Cargo eCommerce & with special emphasis around continuous improvement of processes by applying modern engineering principles around DevOps and/or Site Reliability Engineering

This role is responsible for partnering with cross functional application, platform, development, operations, architecture, and Business stakeholders to provide DevOps support for mission critical applications, while helping streamline, automate, and mature existing processes.

Operates with a team of talented nimble engineers and SMEs who bring a lot of energy, focus and fresh ideas that support our mission to provide value by seeing the world “Through Customer Eyes”

· Maintain and support automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and monitor applications

· Maintaining and supporting highly resilient cloud eco-systems (production and non production)

· Maintain and support world-class, cloud capable, state-of-the-art products by:

· Maintaining automated build processes

· Incorporating static code quality tools

· Helping identify code promotion qualities

· Maintaining and supporting deployment patterns like Canary and Blue/Green

· Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines

· Deploying to public cloud providers like AWS

· Maintaining and supporting tools & utilities that help accelerate day-to-day activities of operations and support teams

· Partnering with development and platform/prod support teams at the appropriate stages in application development to ensure any new systems or projects leverage enterprise DevOps standards

· Staying on top of tech trends, learning new technologies, and participating in internal technology communities

· Managing deployment of containerized workloads and services on EKS/ECS

· Support DevOps Leads

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.

Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field

· 3+ years of informational technology experience

· Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

· Experience working with distributed systems and services in a hosting environment

· Working experience with version control systems (e.g., Github) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Harness, Jenkins, Github Actions)

· Infrastructure as code (IaC) principles (e.g., Terraform, Cloudformation)

· Working knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and configuration management tools

· Working knowledge managing deployment of containerized workloads and services on EKS/ECS

· Working knowledge of agile development methods

· Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship

· Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)

· Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

· Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

· 1+ years’ experience in in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering for mission critical applications

· AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner/Solution Architect

· Certified Kubernetes Administrator

· Experience with logging and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, Kibana)

· Strong problem-solving and communication skills

· Experience with Harness tools
