IT & Communication Architect (d/f/m)A vacancy for an Engineering IT & Communication Architect (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Friedrichshafen. The successful applicant will join “TEMCI3”.
The Ground Systems IT Platform Friedrichshafen offers solutions for external customers as part of their products. It offers Infrastructure as a Service with internal/external cloud providers and as code for hardware initialization, provisioning deployments and configuration management. A platform for service network simulators that we have developed as a product.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Define the functional and technical architecture of the system in accordance with the requirements taking into account criteria of performance, cost, quality and risks
Low level design of physical architecture based on existing portfolio and external supplied components
Monitor implementation of IT/COMs solutions suppliers
Verify and validate requested functional and interoperability aspects
Maintain VCRI matrix status
Collaborate with system, network and security admins experts for creation of the development and operations required for deliver the products
Desired skills and qualifications
Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or comparable
Several years of experience in the field of system architecture and definition of solutions with focus on Microsoft solutions
Advanced knowledge of System Architecture process: requirements management, operational/functional/ technical architecture, system modeling.
Experienced in system engineering processes such as V-model and agile approaches
Experience in modern SW development (DevOps)
Overall knowledge on IT infrastructure: OS (Windows, Linux, Unix), virtualized environments (Hyper-V), network, high availability, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), Docker, Kubernetes,
Skills within Agile methodologies / Scrum/Kanban/SAFE;
Programming/scripting skills (Python, Shell, PowerShell)
Modern tools (Jira, Confluence, cloud native tools)
Modern interface formats (REST, json, YAML)
Modern orchestration and monitoring tools
Increased awareness of compliance and integrity
Like to work in security and process regulated environments
Business fluent English as well as intermediate German skills
