As an Engineering Technologist (CAD Designer) you will:

  • Recognize and understand company Safety Management System.
  • Recognize and understand flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
  • Be responsible for immediately reporting flight/product safety concerns.
  • Participate in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
  • Recognize and understand the Just Culture policy.
  • Prepare engineering designs and drawings (2D and 3D models) for fabricating tooling and components.
  • Provide specifications and technical support for the maintaining of machining equipment.
  • Provide technical input for the development of new technologies.
  • Provide technical input regarding equipment capacity, capability and cost.
  • Prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules and reports, and procurement specifications.
  • Conduct tests and analyses of machines, components and materials to determine their performance, strength, response to stress and other characteristics.
  • Design tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for use in manufacturing process.
  • Provide technical support to production processes as assigned.
  • Setup necessary equipment and machines and trains technicians in correct procedures for new production operations.
  • Monitor and manage projects
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams as required.
  • Participate in projects as a team member and/or project team leader.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carry out special projects as assigned.

What skills you will use:     

  • Your thorough knowledge of and experience with designing, developing, and creating high-quality models using 2D and 3D CAD tools (specifically, AutoCAD Inventor). 
  • Your proven knowledge of and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Thorough knowledge of and experience with using and maintaining machining equipment including manual, CNC, and multi-axis mills//lathes. 
  • Your extensive knowledge of and experience with CNC coding/programming as well as your thorough knowledge of tool and die fabrication.
  • Your ability to understand company instruction, company process and quality manuals as well as strong planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
  • Your proven knowledge of precision measuring instruments (including routine instruments like calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc. as well as emerging/new technology equipment).
  • Your Working knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection processes.
  • Working knowledge of MS Suite and the ability to learn current company operating system environment.
  • Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and/or Mechanical Engineering Technology; or equivalent.
  • Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
  • Directly/indirectly related work experience representing continuous learning and required for someone to perform this job competently is one to three years. Three to five years (or more) related work experience preferred.
  • Must meet US Persons requirements per ITAR.
