Boeing Brazil is seeking Entry Level Propulsion System Engineer, reporting to the Propulsion Engineering Manager, working out of the Sao Jose Dos Campos office.

The Entry Level Propulsion System Engineer will join Boeing Commercial Aircraft team who provide support to all Boeing commercial models both in development and in airline service.  These models include programs such as the 737MAX, 747-8, 767, 777, 787, the 777-9 family of airplanes, or all-new airplane(s) that our product development organization studies.

The engineers will work on the Propulsion System Design and Certification for Thrust Reverser, Thrust Reverser Actuation System, Engine Controls, Fuels, Fuel Quantity Indication System, Engine Installation and other System Integration activities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports definition of requirements for the functions above.

  • Assists to define, coordinate and control the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle.

  • Assists in developing specifications for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Documents configurations and designs of propulsion sub-systems and components.

  • Assists in using various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.

  • Assists in the performance of certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components.

  • Assists in supporting fielded systems to assure continued reliability and airworthiness.

  • Assists in supporting development of concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements.

  • Assists development of FHA, SSA reports, Test Proposals, Test Results, Certifications Plans, and Issue Papers.

  • Work assignments, collaborate with teammates, and receive tasking from lead managers and senior engineers.

  • Works under close supervision.

  • Support technical aspects with other senior engineers within the Propulsion System.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil

  • Must have a degree in Engineering

  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA). Or be able to obtain within 6 months of graduation

  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Some knowledge or certification through FAA or other regulatory agencies

  • Some experience with system design and integration during an airplane development program

  • Occasional travel may be required in support of the program and customer

  • Experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an engineering environment

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
