Summary:

The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) is responsible for providing technical support in investigating known quality issues under the oversight of a QAEII. This role involves implementing plans and instructions to support departmental policies, determining root causes, and developing corrective actions for quality issues using the 8D methodology. The QAE ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and fosters a positive working relationship with local regulatory authorities to deliver a safe, conforming, and high-quality product to customers.

Job Duties:

    Conduct investigations on quality issues according to department procedures and work instructions.

    Identify and complete process improvement projects to enhance the quality or efficiency of quality processes.

    Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.

    Collaborate effectively with other departments and disciplines.

    Develop and maintain a Foreign Object Debris (FOD) free environment.

    Execute company policies and procedures; develop new procedures as required.

    Promote and encourage a continuous improvement culture.

    Support the operating priorities as identified by the Quality leadership team.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

    Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Aviation Sciences, Quality Systems, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma processes.

    Ability to learn manufacturing processes (e.g., Assembly, Machining, Special Process, Inspection).

    Good communication and interpersonal skills.

    Proficiency in computer skills.

Desired Skills:

    An Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License can be used in combination with 4 years of related experience in lieu of the degree requirement.

    ASQ certification (CQE) and/or experience as an FAA recognized airworthiness designee.

    Experience with quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
