An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an Environmental Engineer II within Honeywells Advanced Materials Organization.  This position will be responsible for implementation and assessment of the environmental compliance and Environmental Management System at the Geismar facility. This position will report to the Geismar HSE manager.  

•        Ensure compliance with State, Federal and Corporate Health Safety, Environmental and Security guidelines, including air, Risk Management Plan, hazardous and solid waste, wastewater, and stormwater, SPCC, EPCRA, CERCLA, and management systems.

•        Prepare routine multi-media reports for submission to governmental agencies, trade associations, and corporate organization, such as: Discharge Monitoring Reports; Toxic Release Inventories; Tier II reports, Solid waste reports, Title V Compliance Certification & Deviation reports, NESHAP reports, Greenhouse Gas reports, Hazardous Waste reports and Energy and sustainability metric reports.

•        Determine waste characterization, waste profile management, developing and tracking shipping papers

•        Manage and champion various workflows by inputting environmental information to the corporate HSE management system, including incident reporting and management, environmental metrics, corrective actions, HSE maturity, etc. in a timely and professional manner.

•         Manage Environmental compliance audits and Environmental self-audits and corrective action items to timely closure.

•        Develop trend analysis and appropriate action plans across focus areas to identify and drive continuous improvements to Environmental programs.

•        Manage interactions and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, outside support / consulting groups, and regulatory agency personnel.

•         Provide technical support on compliance to Environmental regulations/permits/programs to the Leadership Team and plant personnel in the day-to-day operations, directly supporting and participating in Tier reporting structure through the plant.

•        Develop, give presentations, and training to all site personnel.

•        Participate in root cause investigations as necessary for any environmental, safety, or other incidents.

•         Establish and maintain HSE documentation and record keeping.

•         Utilize six-sigma, Lean tools and behavior-based safety strategies to guide compliance assurance efforts.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

•        Bachelors degree required, preferably in engineering, manufacturing, safety, environmental science, facilities, or related field. Emphasis in Environmental management (Air, Water, and Waste)

•        Minimum 3 years of HSE experience
